Jewish Pizza! Hut, Hut, Hike!

We'll use sports just for an excuse to make great food!
Who cares about the game...we just want to eat!
Wanna serve something other than cheese pizza this game day?
This pizza is a perfect appetizer that's not so typical!

It's topped with melted cheese, sweet and salty caramelized onions, thinly sliced potatoes, fresh thyme and holy smokes its GOOD!
The recipe comes from our good friend Cara at Freshmade NYC(where Andrew works).
She's a master in the kitchen...the moment we tasted this, there was no going back!

Ingredients
Caramelized Onions...lots of onions! About four big yellow onions.
Pizza dough (we buy frozen dough)
Olive Oil
One thinly sliced potato
1 cup Mozzarella cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Fresh thyme
Balsamic Glaze

It's a pretty simple recipe.
Caramelizing the onions takes the most amount of time so we do that before starting anything else.
Just remember low and slow! And add a good amount salt and pepper!

Once the onions are done preheat your oven to 450 degrees!
Stretch out the dough and start layering!
Mozzarella cheese, onions, potatoes!
Give a good drizzle of olive oil on top of the potatoes, again salt and pepper heavily and add some thyme!
Add a sprinkle of salt around the crust before popping it in...makes the dough that much tastier.
It's take about 30 minutes to cook depending on your oven, just keep an eye on it!

This isn't in fact a "Jewish pizza", but once at work this crotchety old man kept calling it a "Jewish Pizza", because of the potatoes and onions...it was slightly offensive/hilarious, and name stuck!

To finish, drizzle with a little bit of Balsamic Glaze!
You can see us making the pizza on our YouTube Channel!

Game changer!

Bottle Brush Love!

It didn't feel right putting away our Christmas decorations since it just started feeling like winter here in NY.
So we held on to some bottle brush trees and made them "lovely".

A lot of people have been dying bottle brush trees this past year...and we couldn't resist.
We think they look great for Valentine's Day!

We used neon pink food coloring to dye our trees! We kept some in longer than others so they'd each be unique.  They dyed in just minutes and they we're already white, so no need to bleach them!
Quickest project EVA!

No Valentine's Day tree is complete without a little sparkle!

Only you can prevent forest fires! Aren't they lovely!?

Spray, delay, walk away!

We're taking slow steps into the world of essential oils and we're starting by making our own homemade air freshener!
It was really simple and we already had most of the ingredients around the apartment!

All you need is water from the tap, a couple tbls of vodka or rubbing alcohol (we used vodka, duh!) and your choice of essential oils.
You need about 20-30 drops for an 4 ounce bottle.
We've heard a pinch of epsom salt keeps the oil from sticking on the sides of the bottle. Shake before spraying!

We used peppermint and citrus essential oils.
A minty fresh start to the New Year!

It's peppermint magic up in here!
